Windows 10: Windows 10 update

Hello,


My external monitor just stopped working suddenly. I tried to detect the monitor under display settings; update drivers; restart the PC but it still did not work. The monitor works with a desktop and also works with a dvd player I have. It is quite an old model monitor but was working on my PC fine for last year. My laptop is just over one year old.


As a result I decided to run all updates available from microsoft to see if this would fix the monitor issue. The available update was to install windows 10.


After installation I have the following problems:


1: The external monitor still does not work . The laptop just will not detect it.

2 Whenever I restart the laptop all my favourites and passwords on web sites are wiped clean

3 Software Miktex, latex is deleted from the laptop

4 I have to set up my preferences for Microsoft edge again

5 I have to set up preferences for ms office and accept google terms and conditions all over again


What's going on? Any help greatly appreciated.

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Well just noticed a pretty large one pop up coming in at 914MB, seems it makes some pretty serous updates.
