    WIndows 10 File explorer problem keeps coming back Sept 2016

    I have fixed the Windows 10 file explorer crashing a few times the new Windows 10 update that came out mid September the problem has come back.

    I can open explorer for about 3 to 5 minutes

    after that it crashes and I have to open it again

    anyone else having this problem again after Sept 15, 2016

    Windows 10 crashes File Explorer even in safe mode

    Last week's Windows 10 update seems to have fixed the problem, at least for the most part. I was traveling at the time, and suddenly discovered that Windows Explorer was working on my laptop. It still crashes once in a while, but it will relaunch successfully
    and run for several days before it crashes again. Thanks to whoever put something in that update that fixed it.

    I have tried to install it 3 times and has failed all 3 times go figure.

    Mine worked right off on the first try. Was a bit "odd" on the first restart but then it just "worked".
    Who knows.. I'll run the update for a while, day or two and see how it goes.

    Windows 10 updated again, this time it fixes Explorer...

    What's really "odd".. my instillation of Win10 9897 just "works". Like I said the update installed just fine on the first try and it worked. Not an issue really. Given how "new" this OS is it really works well for me.

    I hope your update goes better.

    Well. Now it seems that the update shows that it wasn't done, failed, but I can't get it to try it again. It comes back with "installed".. oh well.

    I cant install it either *Sad It ask for restart but when i check again, it is still available and in history it show as fail.

    Is this update to fix that GDI object issue ?

    Thanks for the info labeeman! I did the download and install. So far I haven't noticed any problems. In Windows update it say's it's installed. I'll switch to IE for a few days to see if I have any problems.
