Windows 10: Windows 10 updates constantly screw up my computer

Without fail, every single time Windows 10 updates, my computer stops functioning properly. I spend day after day tracking down every single setting it changed and fixing it back to my preferred setting and uninstalling the apps I never use that it insists on putting back on my computer and enabling again no matter how often I disable it. Next thing I know I am using 100% of my computers resources just to run Windows 10 and nothing else will open or if I can get it to open after 20 minutes or so it will freeze up and I can't do anything at all. I can't turn off updates and I'm seriously sick and tired of having to unbloat my computer again every time microsoft forces yet another update on me that renders my computer completely unusable. Last month I got so fed up with this issue that I just did a clean install of everything and started all over from scratch and here we are again ... all my programs were running smooth yesterday then microsoft said I could no longer delay the most recent update and forced me to install it and now my computer is the most expensive paperweight on the planet yet again. I open task manager and it won't even open and respond because the system is so overloaded just running the basic OS. Is there anything at all that I can do to get my computer functional?

• Right click "My Computer"
• Click "Properties"
• Click on "Hardware" tab
• Click "Device Installation Settings"
• Tick the "No, let me choose what to do"
• Tick "Never install driver software from Windows Update"

That doesn't stop windows update from grabbing them on next run, at least it didn't back in the RTM days. It simply stops a secondary process from installing them immediately.

• When you set up the account, did you create a local account or Microsoft account?
  
• What is the exact error message you get when you try to login?

I suggest you to check if you have activated two step verification for your account. If yes, I suggest you to turn it off and check.

Also check if the Windows Update was successfully installed on your computer.

• Press Windows Key + I and click on Update and Security.
• Under Windows Update tab, click on Advanced options
• Click on View update history and check if the update is installed properly.
