Windows 10: Windows 10 Updates failing on HP ENVY-17

Hi,

ALL attempts to install up-to-date windows 10 on a Laptop HP ENVY-17 have failed!

The original windows have been working till Version 1709 Build 16299.611.

From then each time the updates were applied automatically after download it failed to restart properly and automatically reverted back to the previous "version". This has happen MANY MANY times. Always reverting to this Build 1709/16299.611.

This week (15 Oct 2018) I have been asked to solve this problem and I:


_ Experimented twice this situation, Failing and reverting back after the updates.

_ Tried a Reset PC keeping the files, same again it did it and at the end reverted back to the previous version.

_ Tried a Reset PC without keeping the files, Same again.

Note: the BIOS F.63 has been updated to the latest F.70 without any difference.


Then that's when I can't understand it:

I removed the HDD(s), Installed a NEW clean SSD, and installed windows 10 NEW from a USB drive. It installed OK (1607 Build 14393.447 including: KB3200970, KB3199986, KB3144623)

Before installing ANY program, I checked for updates and it started downloading KB2267602, KB4132216, KB4093120.

After leaving it running over night a new check updates downloaded KB890830, KB4023057, KB4023814, KB4132216 and new features for Ve1803.

This update never finished to install completely, Locking totally after an automatic restart.


LAST, I updated my USB drive to the latest (1803 Build 17134.112) with MediaCreationTool.

I installed this version, clearing and re-formatting the SSD, it installed OK and again before I installed any program it started to update (KB2267602, KB4462919, KB890830, KB4422930, KB4100347) this downloaded OK, and the install never finished, Locking the PC, the only way to re-start is to again to re-install from the USB???


Any help? since we can't disable selected updates, what can we do?

Anyone having similar problem?

Advise for HP envy 17 30 3090NR

I've just bought HP envy 17 30 3090NR.

suggest me best app for this laptop..

1. best codec

2. best movie player for 3d as well as 2d pictures

3. best antivirus (norton is installed by default rightnow - shd i keep it or uninstall and buy new one)

4. any other suggestions.. ms office 2007/10/other??

5. shd i keep power plugged in always or use only on battery? when i'm using laptop, if i keep plugged in all the time, will it harm/overcharging? i just wanna ask how to maintain battery life..

6. shd i keep windows update on and update regularly?

7. any accesory i must buy? like cover or any other thing?

plz answer above questions..

HP Envy Laptop Battery not charging after Windows 10 installation

Hi,

Thank you for posting on Microsoft Communities.

I suggest you to un-install and re-install battery drivers from Device manager and check. Follow the steps:

• Press Windows Key + X.
• Click on Device Manager.
• Expand Batteries and right click on Batteries ACPI and click on Un-install.
• Restart the computer and check.

If the issue persist, I suggest you to visit HP Envy website and check whether HP has released any firmware updates for Windows 10. If so, please go ahead and install them and check with the issue.

 

BSOD on HP Envy Windows 10 Happens overnight everynight

Every file in the list was version 10.0.14971.100 which is the version of Windows 10 I am on. My laptop is an HP Envy 17 purchased in 12/9/2014. I think there is a mix up somewhere.
