Often within a few days time Updates will sort themselves out. If not or they are bothering you then here are steps you can take: 1 You can also install the Updates manually that fail to install. If you have to reinstall an OS, I'd try clean Windows 10. It should fix it.

Windows 8.1 will only get mainstream support for another six months (January 9, 2018) and will not get any updates after January 10, 2023.


My guess is you have some other software running from Windows 8.1 which is continuing to run in Windows 10 that is having unintended consequences. This problem you're describing is not something that's a known issue with Windows 10.

Yeah, I've been noting it for months on the refusenik thread. They do NOT want anything older than 10 running.

I still have an HTPC on W7, and every other month I have to fix the update agent in order to get all updates. SMH....

i have a clean install of windows 10.

it started after windows updated to something.

then first my mouse stopped working and got detected as a keyboard. I had to reinstall the drivers to make it work again. Since then this is happening.

Let me try uninstalling the updates.
