Windows 10: Windows 10 updates,version 1803 to 1809

Dear Technical Supoort,

I received an automatic update saying that updates to a corrected win 10 version 1809 was ready for my computer early this month of December. I allowed the download. It failed to install with an error code of 0xc1900101. I tried it again over two days. Again it failed. I called Micorsoft support for help and got technicians from India. After three tries

when they remotely connected to my computer with three different technicians, they also failed. The fourth technician also failed but then suggested deleting everything in my control panel add/remove folder. It worked but I lost a lot of files I needed. The 1809 upgrade was successful but I seem to have lost all my files including the documents folder. I lost hundreds of valuable pictures, music videos, music of all types I love, business files, finanacial reports, correspndence information even my Microsoft 365 suite with my Outlook e mail client and all my thousands of emails

dating back to 2014 that I am still paying $ 9.99 a month to Microsoft. The fourth Technician failed to recover my files and suggested I go to a Microsoft store over a hundred miles away. I told him that would be difficult to do. The technician then was suppose to call me back on 12/24/2018 but failed to do so. It's now 12/26/2018 and still no word. I feel like my computer is ruined with this so called 1809 update. I sense I may have to buy a brand new computer but I miss my files. My question is ,"Can anyone help me regain my precious files?" I had to reinstall some programs like an anti malware,virus suite , chrome and some others I thought vital for security becaue I pay all my bills online and do business with business firms also. All my saved data is lost but the computer storage info shows it may still be there somewhere. I need help badly. Can I get some real help or do I have to go to a private non Microsoft computer store?

Win 10 1803 to 1809 update

Good day one and all.

My Desktop computer running Win 10 updated from version 1803 to 1809 a while back, but my laptop/notebook running Win 10 version 1803 (As of a Check for updates today 15 Nov 2018 6:30 AM) still hasn't updated to 1809.

I'm assuming the update 1803 to 1809 has now resumed after the earlier problems caused a suspension?

Updates in general on the laptop are coming through as available, for example, yesterday (14th Nov 2018) the "Cumulative Update for Windows 10 version 1803 for x64 based Systems (KB4467702)" arrived and was installed okay.

Any thoughts, suggestions?

WMP for version 1809...


My Windows 10 N, version 1803 had used Windows Media Player via installing it from the "Windows_MediaFeaturePack_x64_1803.msu" file.

Updating to 1809 removed the WMP and no longer available in the apps list:





There's an updated version listed at:

But clicking on the link and looking for the 1809 in the drop down list of versions does not show the media feature pack available for download for 1809; instead it shows version 1709 and 1803.

Does anyone have a direct link to WMP for Windows 10 N, version 1809?
