Windows 10: Windows 10 updates

The latest updates have both wiped out my data in many apps, mainly Office 365 and Chrome, forcing me to reset the data.


In the first update last month, even my Office apps were removed and this latest one wiped the data. The biggest issue was wiping out Outlook...everything from pst and ost files to archived files. Same with Chrome...completely removed it. My initial thought was akin to the old mantra: Windows ain't done until Lotus won't run.


In the latest update last night, the data was again wiped out but this time no apps were deleted like last time.


Come on, MIcrosoft. I have a laptop that does not experience these difficulties but my desktop is the one being impacted. This never happened before, so why now? And how to stop if from happening??

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Well just noticed a pretty large one pop up coming in at 914MB, seems it makes some pretty serous updates.
