Windows 10: windows 10 upgrade asking for product key

Thanks for the reply *Smile, Recently i checked the version of the ISO file and it is windows 10 home (x64) and the current version of my windows is 8.1(x64) single language, so i am quite sure that version compatibility is not the problem.

 

I could be wrong about this, but I believe that "single language" is different enough from the ISO you downloaded that it is forcing a product key entry. I don't know where you have to go to get a "single language" ISO, sorry.

 

Considering there is a Windows 10 Single Language ISO for download, that certainly IS your problem. You are trying to install a different version than what you currently have.

I am using 35 takas cd of windows 10 in Bangladesh now want to use Windows 10 KN version 1511 in my laptop but it want product key please give me full information what should need to do please

 

Windows 10 comes on a DVD, not CD. And it is certainly not sold for 35 BDT or about $0.45. *Smile You may have been sold a pirated copy. Please check with your seller and ask him for a legally licensed copy/product key.

If you plan to upgrade an activated copy of Windows 7 or 8.1, it should go through provided you start the process whilst connected to the internet and download the upgrade stub.

You need a previously activated OS (Windows 7 or Windows 8.1) on your PC/laptop, sign up for the Insider program and then install Windows 10.

I search in Google they tell that if i install windows10 insider program then i need to Windows 7 or 8.1 genuine version then i can install but in my laptop have copy windows 10 buy from lokal seller by 35 taka only

This is precisely what I have been telling you in my previous posts!!

When I point out you may have been sold a pirated DVD you said you're trying to install the Insider version. And then you wanted information on how to install it. I advised you on how to proceed after booting from an activated and qualifying OS i.e. Windows 7 or 8.1.

Sorry buddy. I don't think anyone on this forum will help you pirate software. You can:

a) Buy a genuine copy of Windows 10
b) Buy a genuine copy of Windows 7/8, install, activate and then upgrade to Windows 10. The free upgrade offer ends July 29, '16 after which you will have to pay.
c) Use a free OS like Linux on your laptop

Antony720 - if you want an activated Windows 10 on your computer then you are going to have to purchase a real and genuine Windows 10 - or a real and genuine Windows 7, 8 or 8.1 to upgrade before July 29. That's all we can tell you to do here.
