Windows 10: Windows 10 upgrade - Error 0x8007042b - 0x4000D - Failure after many attempts trying all...

Trying to upgrade from 1809 to 0909 however continually get the error

Error 0x8007042b - 0x4000D

The installation failed in the SECOND_BOOT phase with an error during MIGRATE_DATA operation


Have spent many hours researching and trying the various option solutions offered, however to no avail as I still get the same error.


Each attempt is several hours so trying again and again is not going to yield any positive results without understanding the fundamental problem.


Please advise on the process to upload the respective Logs advise which ones are key such that a more informed technical developer can review such and advise as to the ROOT CAUSE, rather than the current "hit and miss" process.

Hi,

Yes: I use a complete protection but, after the 1st failure all following ones were attempted with the protection completely disabled.

For my personal culture I'd also would like to know what 0x8007042B+0x4000D exactly means....

As with many users, I'm encountering the same issue when trying to upgrade my PC to 1909 from 1803. I used the Windows 10 Media Creation tool to create an ISO and mount it virtually, then executing the update. I've disabled all external antiviruses, and
even use the Malwarebytes Removal tool to scrub Malwarebytes from my system. I've ran sfc /scannow and DSIM online image repair in safe mode. The update still continues to fail. Any help would be much appreciated.

I tried in several ways to update windows getting always the same error.:

0x8007042B-0x4000D

The installation failed in the SECOND_BOOT phase with an error during MIGRATE_DATA operation

The machine has no hardware problems. I had non USB devices connected. Disk was cleaned just

before try to update. I tried with the new tool; the old Media Creation Tool, both directly or using an

USB drive: no way

I looked on the web, but I didn't read about such an error connected to this upgrade, so I'm looking

for any help here.

I really appreciate any help you can provide.
