Windows 10: Windows 10 upgrade error - 0xc1900101 - 0x4000d

Hi all


Error code is: 0xc1900101 - 0x4000d. The installation failed in the second_boot phase with an error during MIGRATE_DATA operation


Have tried multiple times to upgrade to latest Windows 10 (May update)


Tried via:


- Windows Update

- Upgrade Assistant

- USB ISO


Also tried the troubleshooter / usual tips like SFC Scan


All drivers up to date


Looking at the setup logs now. Need some help interpreting


Looking at setuperr.log


Got:


2019-07-24 14:22:25, Error SP BFSVC: Error copying boot debugging files from C:\$WINDOWS.~BT\Sources\system32 to \\?\GLOBALROOT\Device\HarddiskVolume1\EFI\Microsoft\Boot (kdstub.dll). Last Error = 0x6[gle=0x00000006]


Is this the right thing to be looking at?

Problems with Windows 10 Upgrade - Error Code 0xC1900101-0x4000D

Unable to upgrade to Windows 10 and receiving Error Code 0xC1900101-0x4000D on two machines:

1) Dell 546 PC currently running Windows 8.1 - Failed in second boot phase with an error during migrate_data operation.

2) Lenovo X201 Laptop currently running Windows 7 - Page fault in non-paged area.

Any suggestions?

I failed to upgrade Windows 7 Home to Windows 10 Home with an error code 0xC1900101-0x4000D so I had to get back to the previous windows setting.

Do let us know:

• Have you connected any external devices except mouse and keyboard to your device?
• What is the complete error code/ error message of this issue?
• Are you able to access the computer?

Step 1: I suggest you to remove all the external devise except mouse and keyboard, hard reboot the computer and check with the status of this issue.

Refer to the section: 0xC1900101-0x4000D - The installation failed in the SECOND_BOOT phase with an error during MIGRATE_DATA operation,
perform the troubleshooting steps mentioned if your issue matches with the same.

I would like to infirm that, if you are unable to upgrade to Windows 10, you can use Windows 10 ISO file, create a Media creation tool and try to upgrade your computer.
