Windows 10: Windows 10 Upgrade HDD Partitions

I just upgrade a fresh install of Windows 7 Pro to Windows 10. When looking at the partitions on my SSD I noticed:



What are all these extra partitions? EFI System I guess is from GPT partitioning.
Is there any benefit to a clean install of 10 being that my upgrade was on a fresh install of Win 7 with other software reinstalled running for ~ 1 week?

Cloning a dual boot Windows 10 and Server 2012 R2

Hello,

I have a 500GB HDD with Windows 10 and Server 2012 R2 running on different partitions. I am planning to upgrade the HDD to 1TB SSHD.

Will system clone, clone the various partitions on my HDD and will they be bootable?

Windows 10 - Delete Recovery Partition

So what do you do if Windows 10 Pro is causing the problem? I lost two 3TB HDD because Windows 10 Pro has a problem with my HDDs. "What do I Mean?" I have a system (homebrew) that has a 1TB HDD on it and I have no problem with it. My systems with 3TB HDDs
were total disasters. I built these system with Windows 7 Pro and upgraded to Windows 10 Pro during the free period and had no problem (build 10586) but when I tried to upgrade to build 14383 (Anniversary issue) disaster struck. Windows 10 Pro build 14393
created a unallocated partition of 746 GB and moved my files there. It then created 7 different 3MB partitions , a 250GB partition and 100MB partition in addition to the 100MB recovery partition already on the HDD. None of these partitions were visible to
Windows Explorer (could not be seen). I had to use Partition software to find this out. Windows 10 Pro deleted the 2TB partition created by Windows 7 Pro. A 3TB HDD went to 746GB HDD because the 2TB HDD doesn't exist anymore. I took a second 3TB HDD and tried
to rebuild the system I lost and it started out a Windows 7 Pro also and the system worked four days and did the same thing when updated were applied. So two 3TB HDD lost 2TB of capacity each because of Windows 10 Pro when a computer that started out as Windows
7 Pro with a 1TB HDD has had no problems. Explain that if you can.

 

EFI system partition contains your boot files and recovery partition contains the WindowsRE (recovery environment). You'll get exactly the same result on a clean install on a GPT disk.
