Windows 10: Windows 10 upgrade killed wifi

I upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 7 last night on my laptop. The laptop is a Lenovo Z570 with an i7 processor.

My basic problem is that I do not have the capability to turn on my wifi and search for networks now. The hardware switch does nothing. I went into device manager and the network adapter is recognized and shows as working and enabled. The networking adapter I have for wireless is the Intel(R) Centrino(R) Wireless-N 1000. In the system tray, I only show the red "x" over the wired networking icon, no wireless options.

If I dig deep into the device manager, open the network adapter, go into events and click "view all events", there are several instances of the same error. They all list the same except for the driver name:

I also ran an intel Manual Diagnostics Tool and the Hardware Test failed with a result of "Wireless Hardware is not bound to transport driver"

Now here are the things I have tried:

1. installed multiple different drivers for the network adapter card from both Lenovo and Intel. - No change
2. uninstalled Kaspersky (read another thread that listed Kaspersky as causing multiple problems with an upgrade) - No change

I have not hooked up to a wired connection yet as I do not have access to the room where the wired connections are due to the fact that we have a visitor staying in our guest bedroom.
I have a lot of work on this computer and would rather not do a clean install if there is a way around it. If it comes down to that, I will do it, but I would rather not if at all possible.

Service is killed after windows update

After windows update, one of registered service is killed.

Is there any policy to kill service?

Problems connecting to wifi after update to Windows 10.

How do you connect with a smartphone. That Windows 10 update has killed my WiFi access. I can't do anything with it. So frustrated.

 

In case you haven't tried this... go into Device Manager, right-click to get Properties, and see if there is a tab for Power management and an option to Allow windows to turn off this device to save power (can't remember exactly how it's worded). If there is such an option, make sure it's un-checked.

Then (after saving any open documents/files and closing software) do a full shutdown with this command:

I tried. There was no power option or tab and nothing under the other tabs about managing the devices state to save power. I did try the shutdown using the prompt you stated and nothing different.

Everything I have read regarding the "Wireless Hardware is not bound to transport driver" has said to run a clean os install. I can do that, but like I said I would rather not if there is a way around it...

 

That is a very old Wifi adapter. It had issues even with Windows 7. Personally I would pull it and get one of the newer Wifi mini-card adapters to be able to use it. The last drivers that would have worked properly for that adapter, would have been for XP/Vista. After 7, Intel stopped supporting that adapter.

Now if you just want to use a USB adapter, which will get you better range. I would just disable in the bios the built in wifi adapter and just use the USB adapter.

Now I do have two Realtek adapters that I pulled out of our Toshiba Satellite C850d's that the cards are in my spare parts bin. Do not plan on using them. Just holding onto them, in case someone wants them.

Personally I would go with the Intel Wireless-AC Dual Band 7260 mini-card. You can get it for $30 off of Amazon, CDW, etc. I went that route, so that I could get 300 mb/s, because of the large file transfers we do to our NAS on our network.

And what? Did you resolved it? I have the same shit in my DELL Laptop - WIFI limited - MS doesnt know whats up.
I tried USB WIFI adapter and it works, but I dont dont want to use external... I have b/g/n adapter in DELL, and it was working perfect on W7. WHAT THA **** IS THE PROBLEM FOR MS TO FIX THIS SHIT????

 

Honestly, I tried to downgrade back to Win 7 and my computer would not boot. I got tired of dealing with it and went to elementaryOS (an ubuntu derivative) with a virtualbox instance of Win7 to run the one program I need Windows for...

 

I did a clean installation because my computer was broken and wouldn't boot into windows 7. The clean installation of Windows 10 is when I noticed that this was a problem. I don't know if it was a problem before, as it was my mothers who gave it to me to play games on when it stopped working.Now it seems to be up and running, and with only a few issues including this one, it seems to be perfectly fine. I've heard that it is the software for the wifi that is outdated and is the reason for the issue. You might want to consider getting a new PC and transferring all the files and data to it.
