Windows 10: Windows 10 User Name Spelt Incorrectly

Hi,


I just bought a new laptop and noticed my user folder is spelt incorrectly.


The path is currently:


C:\Users\danie


and should be:


C:\Users\Dan


I don't know how it's done this as I don't think I had an opportunity to input my name for this or else I would have probably spelt it correctly.


I've seen a few tutorials online about how to fix it but they seem very indepth/ advanced and I'm not so confident as to try it out on my new machine. I rang Microsoft hoping that someone would be able to talk me through the steps, one at a time with the ability to ask questions - but the call just brings you to an options dead-end, as it were.


I haven't got many documents saved yet, but I have already installed a lot of software.


Can someone help with this?

Are both the accounts are admin account?

I would suggest you to go through the below steps:

Steps: To determine the user account type:

• 
  Login to any account.
  
• 
  Press Windows key+X.
  
• 
  Click on Control Panel.
  
• 
  Click on User accounts.
  
• 
  Your user account will show and below that it will show your local account or admin account.
  
• 
  Once you know about the account type.
  
• 
  You can go to user account and change the name.
  
• 
  Press Windows key+R.
  
• 
  Type netplwiz and press enter.
  
• 
  Select the account and click on properties.
  
• 
  Change the user name and click on apply and then ok and one more time click on ok on the main screen.
  
• 
  Reboot the computer and check if it helps
