Windows 10: Windows 10 User

Hi,


I purchased a laptop from eBay a few months ago. I noticed for the first time last night that there was another “User” on the laptop, and so I reset the Laptop using the reboot recovery method asking for all files to be wiped and the desktop to be clean and the user is still there. Not only that, when I go into the folder with Users, my username isn’t present. Im not au fait with computers at all so Id appreciate some help on getting rid of the other user details?

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Current active users that are friends

The other reason I suggested this is that users can add characters to their username that are not alphanumeric (e.g. user*). This confuses things somewhat when looking at the list.
