    Hi !

I encrypted important documents and family photos on my own windows 10 user account, let's say "John". Then, I created a new account with a space in the name and no password : "La Plèbe".

After that, I logged off from John, tried to log into La Plèbe but the login failed. Now I'm stuck on the login screen and I can't see the other users on the bottom left corner.

When I boot the machine, it automatically tries to log into La Plèbe and fails.

If I open the command prompt from the repair tools environnement (where I have to select the John account and type in my password) and type "net user" only the default accounts are listed and I get an error message. I tried forcing windows to always show all users on the login screen by setting the value to 1 in the register but it is reset to 0 on boot because windows automatically tries to log into La Plèbe. I tried scheduling a task for this but neither the task scheduler or the powershell are accessible without being logged in.

Windows reset doesn't work. Windows repair doesn't work. Restoring to a previous point doesn't work. Reinstalling while keeping the files doesn't work. Safe mode doesn't work. (!!!!)

I installed windows 10 on another drive and when I try to access my encrypted files from there, it says I don't have permission. I can take ownership but still need permission from John...

Yes I tried net user "La Plèbe" in the command prompt but it still can't find it. Only the default accounts can be seen in the register.

How do I get my family pictures back ? There's years of memories + many pages of written documents which have sentimental value to me.

I've spent over 16 very frustrating and desperate hours on this and I am out of options. Please help me.

    :)

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

    Windows 10 users

Current active users that are friends

The other reason I suggested this is that users can add characters to their username that are not alphanumeric (e.g. user*). This confuses things somewhat when looking at the list.
