Windows 10: Windows 10 v1909 Update

Today (Patch Tuesday?), I was notified of the update to v1909. I duly performed this but was surprised that this update was performed very quickly; in fact in minutes!


On restart, I went and viewed the installed updates and saw:-


"Feature update to Windows 10, version 1909 (2)

Successfully installed on 13/11/2019

I then went to System/About and scrolled to Windows Specifications. This indicated the Windows 10 version was indeed 1909 (18363.476) BUT it was installed on 08/06/2019.

It was only recently I read via CNET release that version 1909 (November) was in the process of being offered out on general release. I would therefore like someone in the know to explain why my machine was apparently updated to version 1909 back in June - I had no notification prior to, during or after this update was done - and that I've apparently just installed another or updated version, i.e. the (2) above, today.


Very confused!?!

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Windows 10 Update

Well just noticed a pretty large one pop up coming in at 914MB, seems it makes some pretty serous updates.
