Windows 10: Windows 10 version 1803 Feature Updates Fail on ASUS since 6/12/2018

ASUS Desktop PC CM1740 Series

RAM 4.00 GB (3.48 usable)

64 bit OS, x64-based processor


Windows 10 Home / Version 1709 / OS Build 16299.785


MAIN ISSUE: System will read there are Updates Available and begin the process, and then I can't Pause or Stop because I don't have "Pro" version.

It runs and runs, then stops at 75% download.. turn off and restart PC.

It runs to 81%, then stops again... turn off and restart PC.

Undoing changes made to your computer.

Reverting to previous version... 6 hours later.


Had problems for 4 months before being able to upgrade to version 1709 finally in late March 2018.

Worked easily until 6/12/18, then repeatedly get "Last Failed Attempt" message on every system generated attempt

"Feature Update to Windows 10, version 1803" and then a number in ( )

As I remember previously, my AMD driver needed updating and that was the final magic for it to work.

I have gone through all of my Drivers and cannot find any that are not updated.

Everything is unplugged and updated.


I did find something on the MS Update Catalog when I searched for "Windows 10 version 1803 ASUS".

• Would any of these Drivers below possibly need to be manually updated?
• I've never had ver 1803 on this PC. I even tried to install ver 1809 today, but it didn't work either. Same dead end.
• Regular "Quality Updates" will process without incidents.
• If anyone knows what to do, please help!
• I don't know "code", so if you give me some links or specific directions, it's much appreciated! Thanks!
