Windows 10: Windows 10 version 1803 won't complete install

I've been having this problem for a while now. Windows 10, version 1803 update downloads but will never complete a restart.

Update History says:

Feature update to Windows 10, version 1803

Requires a restart to finish installing


I've tried restarting the computer a number of times but it does not complete the install.


Every few weeks it will seems to download the update again and try to install it, goes to restart and freezes at 48% (stays that say for 10 plus hours) then I give up and do a hard reboot - it restores to previous version of windows on the next boot up.


I assume my computer has security risks if it is at version 1703 still?

How do I get the 1803 install to work?

windows xp installation and dual core am

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx

The Windows Welcome experience will only be shown after installation of updates and occasionally when you sign in to highlight what's new and suggested by design. For more information about the new features and content of Windows 10 1803, please refer to
these support articles. It also includes a video that summarizes the new content in this release:

Also, make sure that the Windows welcome experience is enabled on your PC. Follow the steps below:

1. Open Settings > System > Notifications & actions.
2. Under Notifications, toggle the switch On "Show me the Windows welcome experience after updates and occasionally when I sign in to highlight what's new and suggested".
