after being forced to update windows 10 to version1903, my brother mfc-L8610cdw device will no longer scan. it will print only.

Will it neither scan from the scan button on printer, or if you open the Printer utility from desktop icon or in All Apps list, find Scanner and try to scan from there?

If you type Scan in Taskbar Search, then open Windows Fax and Scan utility does it detect the scanner and let you scan from it there? This sometimes is necessary for older scanners without drivers.

But if you have a newer scanner I would contact the manufacturer's Support to get their help with this as they should make it right.

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
