Windows 10: Windows 10, version 2004 and/or 20H2, -- "Windows Update" Installation Problem

I'm experiencing a Windows 10, "Windows Update" utility installation problem with either Windows 10, version 2004 or version 20H2 updates.



Problem Statement:

• [Reference First Captured Update Utility Screen]

Windows' Update utility provides/displays two side by side updates titled: "Feature update to Windows 10, version 2004 Download" and "Feature update to Windows 10, version 20H2 Download and install."



• [Reference Second Captured Update Utility Screen]

Selecting either one of these two update options enacts what seems to be a normal "download" and/or "download and install" process, but their related "Install" sequencedoes not advance beyond "Status: Installing- 61%."

After 4 to 8 hours of expired Windows' software update installing time, the indicated "Status: Installing"does not advance beyond 61%.



• [Reference Third Captured Update Utility Screen]

The stalled or stopped installation process is repeatable and not a onetime occurrence approximate 15 attempts were enacted over a one-week period. There are no logged error codes or screen fault/failure/indication messages stating the update process is not running.

Thus, shutting down laptop computer terminates the Windows' update process and logs the following "Update History" message: "Failed to install on 11/17/2020 - 0xc19001e1."

Windows 10 version 20H2

The computer in question had Windows 7 on it and there was not an option to uninstall the 20H2 update. So I have reverted back to Windows 7. Is there a way to download and install Windows 10 version 2004? The games will work on that version but not the
20H2 version.

Windows 10 version 20H2

I down loaded windows 10 version 20H2 and now many games I play on FB are VERY slow. The games worked ok on version 2004. Question if I down load version 2004 will it override version 20H2, or do I need to remove version 20H2 prior to downloading version
2004?

New install Windows 10 (issue solved)

It's good that you're not experiencing any issues. Unfortunately many folks are, a quick Google search will show the same info im offering the OP.

It's basically what I mentioned above, small issues here and there ,but nothing to end your day.. for the most part.

I know it's anecdotal, but for my experience 95% of the time it's perfectly fine. The issues I've run into wouldn't be enough for me to roll back , but they would be enough (had I not installed it yet) ,to avoid it for another couple weeks which is why I'm suggesting it to the OP
