My computer doesn’t shut down. Well, not always. When I want to power it off, I click Start > Power > Shutdown, and shuts down – not restart - but a few seconds later it powers itself back on. I have done some investigation and someone suggested disabling ‘Turn on fast start-up’ in Control Panel Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Power Options\System Settings, but no avail. Hibernate has been disabled, Sleep enabled. Fo

    Windows 10 won't wake up from prolonged sleep (or hibernate or shutdown) conditions

    Regarding your concern with Windows 10 not waking up after prolonged sleep, we suggest that you perform these steps:

    • Go to Control Panel > Power options.
    • Click Change plan settings for Power saver.
    • Click Change advanced power settings > Restore plan defaults >
      OK.
    • Restart your computer.

    Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

    Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
