Windows 10: WIndows 10 will not wake up from sleep

I’ve been having something of a nightmare for the last 3 months with one of my self-built desktop PCs. It was built in 2014 based on a Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB motherboard with an AMD FX-4130 CPU and has 16GB RAM. Originally it was a Windows 7 only machine installed on a Sandisk 100GB SSD which I upgraded to Windows 10 in 2015, shortly before transferring it backup and recover to an OCZ 240GB SSD. In April 2019 I decided to get a Kingston 480GB SSD, transfer backup and recover the Windows 10 system from the OCZ SSD, and then install Ubuntu 17.04 on a new partition. Everything went smooth

I suggest you to check which devices are configured to wake up the computer from sleep by following the steps below:

• Right click on Start icon and select Command Prompt (Admin).
• Type the command line below:

Powercfg /devicequery wake_armed

3. Check if the devices (Keyboard, Mouse, Ethernet cable) are listed.

If the system is not going to sleep and going to Hybernate, the only option to wake up is to press the Power button.

Sleep / Wake Function, malfunctions after waking

Issues that arise after waking up the PC from sleep mode might have been caused by a software conflict or system file corruption. For us to clarify the issue, we would like to ask these questions:

• What is the exact issue that you are experiencing?
• Did you notice any recent system changes prior to this issue?
• Have you encountered any error message?
• What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?

If you are having issues waking your PC from sleep, we suggest running the
Power troubleshooter as an initial troubleshooting. Kindly follow these steps:

• Click on Start.
• Type Troubleshoot, and then press Enter.
• Under Find and fix other problems, click on Power.
• Click on Run the troubleshooter button.
• Follow the onscreen guide.

Windows 10 - Wakes immediately from sleep.

Sleep mode saves the state of all open applications to memory, then powers down both the display panel and hard disk drive. However, if it often wakes up from Sleep mode, you need to change the Sleep settings under Power &
sleep. You can also refer this link regarding shutdown, sleep,
or hibernate your PC.

If that doesn’t help, kindly check with the steps listed below and see if it works.

Method 1: Restore default settings of power plan.

Let’s restore the power settings to its default and check if it makes any difference. To do that,

• Go to Control Panel and select Power Options.
  
• Click on Change advanced power settings.
• Select the option Restore default settings for this plan.
  

Method 2: I suggest you to refer the troubleshooting steps mentioned in the following article and see if it helps.
