    (Windows 10) Windows update stuck on preparing for installation


    tl;dr at bottom
    I started downloading windows 10 home edition for my laptop a few hours ago, and everything was going smooth until the download was finished and the updater displayed preparing for installation.
    It started out fine, it was going up slowly, but that was expected, it kept going up until it reached a certain point.
    Its been an hour and a bit and it still hasn't moved up a bit.

    I have tried to search up the windows forums and nothing came up on the issue.
    So could you guys try to help me if you know any possible solutions.
    And if you don't then thanks for reading this post.

    tl;dr:
    Started downloading windows 10, everything fine until windows started preparing for installation.
    stuck at one position for more than one hour
    Help please.

    windows installation stuck!

    My windows 10 update installation is stuck for a very long time,(for about 10 hours or more).

    It is showing "PREPARING TO INSTALL UPDATES 28%" and is stuck.

    Any help will be highly appreciated.
