Windows 10 won't connect to internet but web is accessible

I have recently reset my PC after failing to solve a few problems. Now my Network Status is shown as "Not Connected" and the Wi-Fi icon on the bottom right corner says "No Internet". The Troubleshooter is unable to detect any networking issues and suggests resetting the network configuration, which I have done with no effect. Windows Update or any of the advanced diagnostics don't work but inform me that I am not connected to the internet. In Network Properties Wi-Fi is shown as operational but Connectivity (IPv4/IPv6) says Disconnected.

BUT - EDGE works perfectly well (I am on the Microsoft website now) as does Outlook and One Drive so I do have an internet connection.

I am running Windows 10 Home, Version 1803.

    Help please

    :)

Upgrading to Windows 10 from windows 7 and losing internet connection

A couple of days ago I upgraded my desktop to windows 10 after getting one of those MS prompts. However now I cannot access the internet and suspect the drivers from the Gigabyte GA-MA790X-ud4 motherboard does not support the internet drivers required. Searching the manufacturers website has not given me any joy either. Can anyone offer any suggestions?
