Windows 10: Windows 10 won't let me disable my touchpad in any way

I was having network issues that couldn't solve so I've done a fresh install of the system. Previously, I configured that I wanted to disable the touchpad when a mouse was connected. I was going to do the same but Windows doesn't show me that option now:





I've tried just to disable the touchpand permanently but I can't either...




I've reinstalled the touchpad but I still get the same...

How can I solve it, please?

Disabling touchpad gestures in Windows 10

Precision touchpad is one of the improvements recently brought to Windows 10 to support touch gestures. Is you device running on Windows Creators Update? If yes, follow the steps below to disable touchpad:

• Go to Settings.
• Select Ease of Access.
• Click Touchpad.
• Under Touchpad, toggle the switch on or off.
• You can also uncheck the box beside Leave touchpad on the when a mouse is connectedoption to disable it when you use a traditional mouse.
  

Once done with the steps above, check if the issue will persist.

Disabling Synaptic touchpad in Windows 10, and why it won't stay disabled. For a left handed person, it is disruptive.

If you wish to disable your touchpad, I suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below.

• Press Windows Key +X.
• Select Device manager.
• Expand Mice and other pointing devices.
• Right click on Synaptic touchpad driver and select Disable.
• Click OK to confirm and check with the issue.

Cannot disable touchpad on Windows 10

In the Windows 10 environment, there are two ways on how to disable the touchpad when a mouse is connected. Here are the steps:

Method 1: Settings

1. Press Windows + I on your keyboard to launch Settings.
2. Click Devices.
3. click Touchpad.
4. Uncheck the option "Leave touchpad on when a mouse is connected."

Method 2: Control Panel

1. Launch Control Panel by searching via Cortana
   search box.
2. Click Hardware and Sound.
3. Under Devices and Printers, click Mouse.
4. Click the Device Settings tab.
5. Uncheck the Disable internal pointing device when external USB pointing device is attached option.

In some laptop, the option to disable the touchpad is dependent on the support software. If the above steps fails,
it means that this option can only be performed by the software Sony has provided. There may be ways on the registry to turn it off manually, but that is a different story and the keys that needs to be modified might be different from one make and
model of laptop to another.
