    Hello. I've seen dozens of similar problems on the web, but none of them gave any conclusion - so I'm taking my shot here.

    The problem is, Windows 10 refuses to wake up from sleep. It doesn't matter whether it's a fresh install (with only the GPU drivers installed), or with all my usual drivers and software that I use.

    Since the computer can't even sleep without GPU drivers, I suspect the GPU to be the issue. I've tried many versions of AMD Adrenalin, including the latest ones. Everything works as it should, Device Manager shows no issues, all connected hardware works fine.

    However, as soon as I put it the computer to sleep (which takes suspiciously less time than on Windows 7), the problem shows up. I wake the computer, but all I get is the black screen (no video signal message on monitor) and the fan starts getting louder and louder (not sure if CPU or GPU fan, though).

    Then, I press the reset button on my case. This time the computer passes POST, shows the Windows boot logo, but it just sits there (with the fan getting loud again). The only way to boot is to press the reset button again. Windows then boots with no error message, as if nothing happened at all. Also, there's no problem with restarting or shutting down the system.

    I tried messing with power settings both in BIOS and Control Panel, enabling and disabling the Fast Boot, with no result. I asked a friend about this issue, and he says the problem might actually be the motherboard itself. Gigabyte lists this model as Windows 10 ready, and provides the Windows 10 drivers. I also have a laptop (HP 17-by0024nm), the sleep on Windows 10 works just fine over there.

    Things I haven't tried yet:
    - updating the BIOS (but the update is a beta version, and only updates the CPU AGESA code)
    - replacing the GPU
    - replacing the motherboard
    - adding an SSD as system drive (I just ordered one yesterday, though)

    The system in question is:
    - CPU: AMD FX-4130, 3.8GHz quad-core, socket AM3+
    - Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3P, rev 1.0
    - RAM: 2x 4GB DDR3, 1333MHz
    - GPU: Sapphire Radeon HD7750, 1GB GDDR5
    - Hard drive: WD Blue 1TB 7200rpm
    - Monitor: LG 22EA53, connected via DVI-D
    - OS: Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2019, 64-bit

    Hi,

    Thank you for posting your reply. Apologize for the delay in response.

    I suggest you to check which devices are configured to wake up the computer from sleep by following the steps below:

    • Right click on Start icon and select Command Prompt (Admin).
    • Type the command line below:
    Powercfg /devicequery wake_armed

    3. Check if the devices (Keyboard, Mouse, Ethernet cable) are listed.

    If the system is not going to sleep and going to Hybernate, the only option to wake up is to press the Power button.
