Windows 10: windows 10 x64 cannot find installed drivers for USB-485 lead.

I am trying to use a CTI USB-Nano 485 lead/adaptor on a Windows 10 x64 bit PC, this is a known working device. The drivers are supposed to be installed when you plug it into the USB port but nothing happens. The adaptor appears in Device Manager but it says that no drivers are installed.

I downloaded the drivers for Windows 8 and upwards from the manufacturer and they installed fine, again Windows says no drivers installed, I did update drivers and pointed Windows at the driver repository where the drivers installed, it searched the folder and found no drivers, I tried installing them again but no luck.

I then downloaded the Windows 10 x64 driver setup files from the FBTI site for devices such as this using their chip and they installed fine too, turns out they were exactly the same driver files as supplied by the device manufacturer. Again Windows could not find them even when directed to search where they are - I can see the driver files in the folder but Windows finds nothing! Please any ideas??

Windows 10 USB boot

Hi there, am not a windows 10 expert. I have a pc in the bedroom on windows 10, I messed up the bootloader trying to fix the xp on that system.

System wont boot, trying to repair via win 10 usb installer.

Downloaded the media creation tool to install windows 10 installer on usb stick. Not compatible with a host of usb sticks I have. Tried the usb sticks that others use, but I think they use rufus; as the media creation tool by win 10 does not detect the usb stick.

So quick question, the win10 machine i am trying to repair the bootloader is a win7 upgraded to win10.
If i were to use the usb win10 installer to "repair installation" does the version of the iso downloaded via the media creation tool matter?

There is three options:
Windows 10
Windows 10 Home
Windows 10 N

Also is there a step by step instead of using rufus as I want to try an alternative method of creating a usb win 10 installer. Preferably with more compatibility.

System is a asus sabertooth 990 (r2?) with AMD phenom X 6.

Also is there any other software I can load onto the usb that can repair the bootloader easily?

Windows 7 x64 not detecting GTX295

Background
I installed the 295 and it was not detected. So I downloaded 181.22 for Vista x64, but those drivers didn't work for gaming (CTD). So I installed a GTX 8800 and it was detected and drivers installed automatically from Windows Update.

Now I put the 295 back in, and it installed and was able to run games. However, the nVidia control panel was not available, suggesting that the drivers hadn't installed properly... So I deleted the drivers and rebooted. And... again it lists my 295 as a "Standard VGA Graphics Adapter" and a "3D Video Controler", but no drivers can be found by Windows Update.

Question
1) Is there anywhere I can download the Windows 7 x64 drivers and install them manually?

2) Any idea how I can get Windows 7 to recognize my GTX295 so that it can download the proper drivers.

3) Have you had the GTX295 install automatically in Windows 7 x64?

 

Is it time for Windows 10 already?
