  1. Windows 10 - Xbox App - Error 0x409 0x80131509

I have seen this as a consistent, common problem through my research, and have attempted to apply all of the solutions presented, along with solutions presented elsewhere on the Internet. I am unable to sign in to my Xbox app on my Windows 10 desktop in order to stream from my Xbox One. I originally received the simple 0x404 error, but all subsequent errors have been 0x409 0x80131509. My attempted solutions include:

    • First solution:
    • Press Windows + R on the keyboard.
    • Type msconfig, and then click OK.
    • On the General tab, click the Normal Startup, and then click OK.
    • When you are prompted to restart the computer, click Restart.
    • Second solution:
    • Press the Windows key on your keyboard and type Services in the search box.
    • Once the Services window opens, scroll down and look for Xbox Live Auth Manager, Xbox Live Game Save, and Xbox Live Networking Service.
    • You have to repeat the steps on each service. Right-click on each service and click Properties.
    • Make sure that the Startup type is set to Automatic.
    • If the Service status is stopped, click on Start.
    • Click OK to save the settings.
    • Third solution:
    • Open the File Explorer and paste the following into the address bar to go to a specific location on your computer:%userprofile%\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.XboxIdentityProvider_cw5n1h2txyewy\AC\TokenBroker
    • Delete any accounts and cache folders that you can see at this location.
    • Launch the Xbox App and sign in to your account again.
    • Fourth solution:
    • Accessing PowerShell and uninstalling/reinstalling with this command line:
    • Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml”}
    • Fifth solution:
    • Resolving a potential service host separation with this command line:
    • REG ADD HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\XblAuthManager /v SvcHostSplitDisable /t REG_DWORD /d 1 /f
    • Sixth solution:
    • Installing all updates and restarting

None of these solutions have allowed me to log in to the app. I expect basic services to function without needing to do all of this in the first place.

    :)

  2. 0x409 0x80131509 Xbox App Windows 10

Just downloaded the Xbox App on the Windows Store. And the app is giving me the error trying to sign in:

    0x409 0x80131509

I've tried all of the solutions to the general 0x409 error: Reinstalling the app, trying the Xbox Beta app, wsreset.exe, making sure the 3 services are enabled, etc.

The second error code after searching around I can't find anything about it.

    Any help would be appreciated

  3. Xbox App won't sign in - Error codes (0x409) 0x80131509

    Hi Loraine,

I have the same issue, getting the error code "(0x409) 0x80131509" every time I try to login in the Xbox App.

I tried to follow all your steps.

    • "Normal Startup" was already selected.
    • Changed Xbox Live - Auth Manager, Game Save and Networking Service to automatic and they are running
Then wanted to delete account and cache folders, but there was no "TokenBroker" folder under %userprofile%\....\AC. Only a empty one called "Temp" which I deleted. Also my "Microsoft.XboxIdentityProvider" folder is called slightly different: Microsoft.XboxIdentityProvider_8wekyb3d8bbwe.

I'm still unable to login. Do you have any other suggestions on how to fix this?

    Thank you in advance
