    Hello all,

I am having a very frustrating problem connecting to a new computer. I get the following error when I try to connect to it from the existing computers in the office:

    Windows cannot access \\COMPUTER9

You do not have permission to access \\COMPUTER9. Contact your network administrator.

It is a new computer that had W10 Pro 1809 installed when it arrived. I upgraded to 1903 to see if that would make a difference, it didn't.

It is on the network, I can access the Internet, networked printers, etc.

I can see the other computers on my network list from this new PC and can connect to them. I logged in to one of the computers (W10 1803) without a problem. However when I switch and try to connect from this older computer to the new one, I get the above error.

    On the new PC:

    1. I have set up the shared folder (and checked that it is shared by using \\localhost)

    2. The network is set to Private

    3. In advanced sharing settings I have set on Network Discovery and File and Printer sharing for Private, Guest and All networks.

    4. I have checked that the following services are running, DHCP client, DNS Client, Network Connections, Network Location Awareness, Remote Procedure Call (RPC), Server, TCP/IP NetBIOS helper, Workstation, Function Discovery Resource Publication and UPnP Device Host services.

    5. The new PC can see and connect to the other computers in the office (W7 pro and W10 pro 1803).

Thanks in advance for any help anybody can give.

    Gerry

    :)

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

Unlocked Realtek HD Audio Drivers Windows 7 & 8 (With Dolby Digital Live and DTS Interactive)

DTS supported natively by Windows 8/8.1 and it should work on windows 10 too just DDL require to unlock your driver .
