    Hi,

Hoping someone might be able to help me troubleshoot my recent issues with Windows. I'm on Windows 10 Pro latest update KB4023057, these issues started on the last version of windows I had KB4574727 and persisted after I updated to this version today. Windows is installed to an SSD and I haven't had any problems until today, no recently installed apps.

My PC keeps freezing at random times screen freezes but the cursor still moves, it occurs sometimes when opening applications, trying to type in word or the search bar of internet browsers, going full screen in zoom pretty much anything seems to trigger it but not every time. I opened Resource Monitor and noticed that when the computer freezes the disk usage spikes to 100%.

Initially, I noticed that multiple instances of Malware Bytes popped up at the same time as the freezes which made me believe it was related to that, however, I have tried uninstalling and using the PC without it on and I'm continuing to get the freezes, admittedly it feels less frequent but that could just be my perception.

I've also tried disabling everything I could find related to Windows Search: removed indexing, disabled cortana, removed index search in file options and disabled Superfetch. I tried installing SATA drivers from my Motherboard's website as well.

Happy to send through any logs or anything else that can help work out what's going on.

    :)

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

DTS supported natively by Windows 8/8.1 and it should work on windows 10 too just DDL require to unlock your driver .
