    Windows 1093 Update - User name, personal documents altered/cloned


    I completed the update to Win10 v 1093 at 4:53AM, after starting is at 9PM the night before (quick and easy, huh?). Well, now I have applications, games, programs, and files and documents that I couldn't use or locate.


    Turns out, this update cloned and renamed my username, moved all files into that new username, and said 'screw it' to all file and shortcut extensions. I'm trying to fix it, but my question is - why? Will I be able to simply rename the pathway from the parent file and it fixes all my issues? Or do I have to completely re-do every single application install and personalization step again?

    Altering the Documents Directory Changes the Folder Name

    I set up my Documents folder location to use the D drive on my computer and now it is stuck with the folder name D:/ - however when I go into properties it says that it is Documents. How can I get it to change the folder name back to Documents?

    Edit:
    Steps I took were...

    1. RMB Documents (in sidebar under Quick Access)
    2. Location - Move/Change to D:/
    3. Save

    Now by default any documents saved to the Documents folder will be saved to the drive D:/ (Documents) rather than in the C:/Users/

    How to change User name on Windows 10

    Hi Davit,

    I will certainly help you in changing the User name on Windows 10.

    I suggest you to follow the steps below to change the User name:

    • Press Windows logo + R keys to open the run command, type
      netplwiz       and click on Ok.
    • On the Users tab, click on Properties to change the user name and then click on
      Apply.

    Win10: windows update stuck at never ending loop ?

    When in win10:
    • Update&security -> Windows update -> Finding update... .... .... ....
    Planning to download the latest Win10.ISO (vers.1803) and manually update:
    - Then wait that my ordered new SSD arrives and clone the old HDD to it.
