Windows 10: Windows 10S Brother printer DCP-195C will not work

My elderly DCP195C has been working fine with my Windows 10S until today, Thu 11 June 2020. Windows did a large update yesterday or day before. Now the printer will not work }:- Tried looking at settings but nothing seems to solve the problem. Anyone any suggestions please?

The printer prints properly but I cannot scan any documents. Under Windows 7 ( before the upgrade ) everything was ok. What can I do ?

 

Do I need both copies of my printer (Brother DCP J715W) on Windows 10?

One is automatically installed by the system, and the other is installed by the driver of the printer. Usually we can keep a printer.

We can check if the printer ports of the both printer copies are the same in printer properties.

If their printer ports are the same, we keep Brother DCP-J715W Printer and delete the other one.

If their printer ports are different, we keep the printer that works well by our testing(It is best to keep Brother DCP-J715W Printer).

• What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?
• Which version and OS build number of Windows 10 is currently installed? To check, press the
  Windows key, type winver, and press the
  Enter key.
• Have you tried to download and install the latest driver for your printer from the manufacturer's website?
• Do you receive any error messages?
• What program are you using to scan files?
