Windows 10: Windows 11 22H2, Error code 37 with Killer E2600 Ethernet driver when booting in Safe Mode....

Here is the error reported when booting in Safe Mode with networking F5 option.This is a pretty common Ethernet adapter on newer PC's why is windows not handling it in Safe Mode?Is MS going to fix this problem or is it a problem to be fixed by Killer or the PC manufacturer?I have 2 different models of Dell XPS 8940, and both use this Ethernet adapter.

Hi,

Windows cannot initialize the device driver for this hardware (Code 37)
error occurs when the driver executed the DriverEntry routine. For us to resolve this issue, we suggest that you reinstall the device driver manually. Follow these steps:

• From Start, search for Device Manager and press
  Enter.
• Right-click the device that you are trying to use when this error code came up from the list.
• Select Uninstall from the menu that appears.
• After the device is uninstalled, choose Action on the menu bar.
• Select Scan for hardware changes to reinstall the driver.

The Code 37 error is one of several Device Manager Error codes.

A Code 37 error basically means that the driver installed for the
hardware device has failed in some way.

You may refer to the methods below and check if it helps:

Method 1:

I suggest you to update all your drivers in device manager and check if it helps.

Method 2:

I suggest you to sign out from the current user account, restart the pc and login to the admin account or the Microsoft account to check if that helps.

I also suggest you to install any pending updates on the pc to check if that helps. Updates are additions to software that can help prevent or fix problems, improve how your computer works, or enhance your computing experience.

Method 3:

I suggest you to plug in the USB device and run the hardware troubleshooter to check if that helps.

Hardware and devices troubleshooter:

Try the followings steps:

• Click "Search" and type "Troubleshooting" without quotes and hit enter.

• Click “Hardware and Sound”

• Select "Hardware and Devices"

• Click next to run the troubleshooter.
