Windows 10: Windows 11 After MSCONFIG Advanced Clean Boot PIN Reset Application Missing

While trying to troubleshoot a Windows 11 issue I used MSCONFIG Advanced option to perform a Clean reboot with only the minimal set of applications and processes running to see if my issue was related to an application. When I rebooted the Windows PIN entry screen came up "Something happened and your PIN is not available" with the option to "Set up my PIN" . When I click on that it brings up a prompt "Search for App in the Store?". Clicking "Yes" it just brings me back to the original PIN entry screen. So a loop. It looks like the whole PIN entry/reset application either got disabled or r

msconfig reset ?

I was following step by step a post of an independent advisor to remove a malicious powershell script that executed itself at every reboot, and it said :

1. Open the run box by pressing the Windows Key + R and type msconfig

2. System Configuration Utility box will open and by default you are on general tab.

3. On the General tab, click the selective startup and make sure that load system service and load startup items both have checked mark.

4. Click on services tab

5. Put a check mark on Hide All Microsoft Services > This is a very important part as if you miss to click on this, computer might not boot properly or permanently and will end up on clean installation.

6. Once Hide all Microsoft Services have checked mark on it, click on Disable All

7. Click on the Startup Tab and click open task manager. This will open another window which contains all your startup applications on the administrator account.

8. Disable all application that you're not using. You can simply just click on them and select disable.

9. Click OK , Apply and close the configuration utilit

After following carefully those steps, I rebooted the computer and at the login screen it now says : A problem happened and your PIN isn't available. Click to make a new Pin

The button doesn't work and it want to seek in the Microsoft store to find a program that allows to make a new one, which doesn't work either

The problem is obviously in one of the msconfig now unchecked option, and I wondered if it was possible to reset msconfig options to it's previous stage.

• Ttype msconfig at the search field or Cortana.
• Click on the System Configuration.
• Click/open the Services tab.
• Click on the Enable all button.
• Click/open the Startup tab.
• Click on Open Task Manager hyperlink.
  
  
• Select each services and enable them one by one.
• Close the Task Manager window
• Click on the Apply button then OK.
• Click on Restart button and the issue should be fixed.

windows 10 home missing pin to taskbar for installed applications

I added a third step to the first suggestion, which worked for me:

1. Choose start> All apps,

2. Scroll to the application you want to pin, right click and then click
Pin to taskbar.

3. When the desired icon tile appears in the desktop box, left click on it and drag it into the task bar.
