  2. Microsoft Family Safety Members Can Change Their Own Settings

I manage my family settings on pc and through the mobile app. On the mobile app I noticed that the member's profile page states "Both you and this member can change their settings".

My son is 11 and sure enough, he just changed his screen time to full usage 7 days a week and removed app restrictions completely, with his own login I suppose, as the Microsoft statement above suggests (he doesn't have mine).

"Both you and this member can change their settings". Really? So any member or child can change his settings as easily as I can? Why does Microsoft Family Safety exist at all then? For computer-illiterate members, I suppose. I've been unable to find a way
to change this fact. Is there a way to restrict the member from changing their own settings?

  3. Setting up Family safety settings in Windows

    Hello Ajay,

I realize that you are trying to setup the Microsoft Family Safety settings.

    • Which version of operating system are you using to setup the Family Safety?
If you are using the Windows 10 then I suggest you to refer the below information and check if it helps.

It’s easy to share your Windows 10 PC with family members. Add family members using "Add a family member" from your PC's Settings, and they’ll be able to use that PC as well. And you're always in control. You can allow or block them from using
    a PC at any time.

Add kids to your family to help them stay safer online. Adults in the family can view reports of kids’ online activity, limit how long and when they use their devices, and help make sure they don't see inappropriate websites, apps, or games.

I suggest you to create a family safety account in Windows 10
    and check if it helps.

Refer: Set up family features in Windows 10

Hope this information helps. Keep us posted to help you better.

  4. Windows 11 and family safety settings: unable to add member

    Adding phone to Family Safety

If you haven't used Family Safety before, you can skip this step. If you already use Family Safety, you'll see a screen where you need to match each Windows account to a name on the Family Safety members list.
If a Windows account doesn't have a matching Family Safety name, click the option to add it.

You'll recognize the people listed on the Family Safety members list as the people in your family who already use Family Safety. When you match them to their Windows accounts, you're verifying for Family Safety that each person is matched to their own correct
settings. For example, if your child's name is Ben, he might have a Windows account named Ben but be listed in the Family Safety members list as Ben Miller. By matching the accounts, you tell Family Safety that this is the same person.

If there's a Windows account on the computer for someone who hasn't used Family Safety before, you'll see them at the bottom of the list. When you click Add (person's name), Family Safety creates a new Family Safety
membership for them with their Windows account name.

You can match your existing Family Safety settings to your Windows accounts...

    Add passwords...

It's important that all of your Windows accounts have passwords. If you have an account without a password, your kids could log on to that account and bypass their Family Safety settings.

If the Windows accounts you're setting up to monitor don't have passwords, click Add passwords.

If you have guest accounts on your computer, you should turn them off because kids can also use them to bypass safety settings.

    Verify your setup...

Click Next and you'll see the Windows accounts that Family Safety is now monitoring on the computer.
