    Windows 11 audio ducking even though no change in volume mixer or app.


    Hello i've been having a issue and I'm not sure if it's a windows 11 thing or what. Every time one audio is louder than the other windows takes priority of the louder sound and quitens the other apps slightly until the louder sound stops. It makes it hard to have more than one app open with sound because you need to level out the volume on the volume mixer or it will occur. Here are some things I've tried but they did not work and I also spoke to a few windows team members on the live chat about this:1. Uninstall all audio drivers in windows device manager and let windows reinstall them.2. Upd

    Volume Mixer not showing muted app

    The application was muted on Windows 10 with November update. Now I am using Anniversary update, on build 14393.10

    The initial step did not help make Banished show up in the Volume Mixer, nor did the article.

    Set new audio device default for volume mixer in Windows 10

    I use two audio devices:

    • Default (audio) device "Realtec Digital Output (Optical)"
    • Default communication device "Lautsprecher (Speaker)"

    My goal:
    I want to have the default audio volume on my default communication device, instead of the default device - at all times.

    What I tried so far:
    Changing the volume mixer to my communication device explicitly works temporary, but as soon as I close the settings window, the default audio volume is reset again to the default audio device.

    Step 1: Clicking on volume shows me the default device:

    Volume Mixer not showing muted app


    I do not have an audio problem in the context of "Audio is not playing". The problem is in the fact that Volume Mixer will not show a muted app. This issue has been around since Windows 7.

    If you mute an application, it will not show up in Volume Mixer next time you start it. Is there any way I could find the settings for muted applications and change those to 'unmuted'?
