Windows 10: Windows 11 Black screen with no start button

I recently upgraded my laptop to Windows 11 using the Windows 11 update assistant. However now when I log into my laptop there's only a black screen with my cursor. There's no start button avaliable. Using task manager I can open some apps but there's no way I could use the start menu at all. Looking online I tries to open my laptop in safe mode but there was no point as when I did still there would be no start menu. I tried using control shift B but that didn't help at all. I've been really frustrated with this and need help urgency.

Sounds like the old... windows black screen of death.

Google search and you will find a lot of the "Windows Black Screen of Death with cursor" fixes.

I would suggest you try the power troubleshooter if you are able to boot into the system.

Follow the steps below.

• Press Windows key + W and type Troubleshooting.
• Select Troubleshooting and click on System and Security.
• Click on Power and follow the onscreen steps.

Endless black screen without anything but it is on
