  1. Windows 11 breaking after installing the KB5017383 update. Solution found, I want this to...

Hello I had a weird problem. After installing the KB5017383 update I booted into windows logged in and it was taking a while to log in. Longer than usual. When the background turned black I turned off the laptop with the power button. Turned it on again, logging in was very fast this time, but it logged into a black screen with a cursor, no taskbar, Windows key wasn't doing anything. Tried ctrl + alt + delete, that worked so I opened Task manager. Used the run task button to open cmd. I ran two commands, sfc /scannow and chkdsk /f they didn't help. I found this site, followed the instructions

  2. Windows 11 Update (KB5017383) fails to install (0x80070308)

    Hello.
I'm experiencing the same problem after a failed 22H2 upgrade.

ATTENTION You were helping me with this one.

2022-09 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 22H2 for x64-based - Microsoft Community

Tried to installed 22H2 and failed miserably.

I HAVE A VERY INTERESTING UPDATE

I restore an old Windows 10 image from 2021.

When boot Windows Update, quite normally, detected lots of updates, download and installed and I got the error

that Windows 11 Update (KB5017383) fails to install, that is why I got to this post.

So, I download the new ISO 22H2, as suggested, which was installed OK!!, here is the proof.

    Device name DESKTOP-PAR3J1B

    Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-9750H CPU @ 2.60GHz 2.59 GHz

Installed RAM 32.0 GB (31.8 GB usable)

    Device ID 043CDEB8-4037-42AB-B258-E257AEFCFFEF

    Product ID 00330-80000-00000-AA632

System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

Pen and touch No pen or touch input is available for this display

    Edition Windows 11 Pro

    Version 22H2

    Installed on ‎25-‎Sep-‎22

    OS build 22621.521

Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22634.1000.0

But guest what, the error persists...

I sincerely starting to think this is a 22H2 feature, not a bug...

Suggestions? (I will try to manually download from catalog and install, watch this space)
