    Although Windows 11 is not supposed to be installed on BIOS PCs, some people including Microsoft have published instructions and some of them work.One PC has Windows 7 x64 in one partition and Windows 11 in another partition. Two PCs have Windows 10 x64 in one partition and Windows 11 in another partition. All are activated with digital licences except for Windows 7 which has an ordinary licence. On all three PCs, Windows 11's Boot Manager is in the active partition.In all Windows 10 and 11 installations, I disabled Fast Boot and enabled hibernation ordinary not hybrid hibernation. Win

    Hello *Smile Windows 11 can't resume from hibernation on BIOS PC :)
    I am using Windows 8.1 for about 6 months now and never had any problems. But after the big update I am not able to shut down my PC completely.
    I shut down my PC normally, but when I start it again, the short message "Resume from Hibernation" appears, but then Windows boots as always. Even when I turn off my PSU and on again and start the PC, this message appears. Only when I press restart, the PC boots up as it should and I am able to enter the bios.
    Is there any option to disable this?

    Resume from Hibernate Issue

    This indicates that your computer is restarting i.e. resume from hibernation is failing.

    Your initial step ought to be to go to the computer maker's support website to download then reinstall the latest display adapter driver. While you are there, check for any updated bios.

    • Have you made any significant changes to your device prior to the issue? If yes, what are they?
    • Are there any third-party applications installed on your device?
    • Have you checked if Windows 10 is updated? Go to Settings >
      Update & security       > Check for updates.
