Windows 10: Windows 11 Group Policy Client Service

I have been trying to log into a secondary account on my computer after not using it for a few months, but whenever I enter the password I am given the error message "The Group Policy Client Service has failed the sign-in". After a quick Google search, it show me that this is not an unknown issue, and that I could fix it by going to the Group Policy Client section in the Services app and clicking "start". I went to the Services App and found the Group Policy Client, but I have unfortunately hit a wall - I cannot alter the Group Policy Client's function at all. I cannot, start, stop or set reco

Failed to connect to the group policy client services

Thank you for posting in Community. I understand your concern and we will try to assist you in the best way we can.

The issue that you are facing may be due to the reasons stated below:

· User Profile Service or Group Policy Client service stopped working.

· Antivirus software conflicts.

· I would suggest that you first check if the services for Group Policy are running.

To do so follow the steps mentioned below
:

• Find the Group Policy Client service.
• Right click on the service, and click on Properties.
• The service status should be started and startup type
  automatic, if not, change the values accordingly, then click Apply and then OK.
• Press Windows + R key and type "services.msc" and press enter.

• When you say cannot access mail, which mail are you referring to?
• How are you accessing this mail? Is it through browser or mail client?
• If through browser, id you check using different browser?

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

1. May I know, which version of Windows is installed on your computer?
   
2. Is your system connected to Domain network?
   

If you are not on a domain network you can try the troubleshooting steps provided below.



Method 1: Winsock reset.

1. Start your PC in safe mode.
   
2. Once you are on the same mode.
   
3. Search for Command Prompt on the Start Menu.
   
4. Right click and Run as Administrator.
   
5. Type in netsh winsock reset
   on the command prompt and hit enter.
   
6. Reboot the computer and check.
