Windows 10: Windows 11 Home 21H2 - Refusing drivers for receipt printers

Hello! I'm an IT support tech for a sales team that use a blend of Windows 10 / Windows 11. One of the hardware pieces consistent across the board is the Star TSP743II receipt printer. We've got updated drivers for it that have been compatible across all of our Windows 10 systems, but one of our guys running 11 ran into a new issue for us that we haven't been able to resolve for him. I'm an IT support tech for a sales team that use a blend of Windows 10 / Windows 11.

One of the hardware pieces consistent across the board is the Star TSP743II receipt printer.

We've got updated drivers for it that have been compatible across all of our Windows 10 systems, but one of our guys running 11 ran into a new issue for us that we haven't been able to resolve for him.

No matter how many chains of uninstall reinstalls, browsing local for the driver, directly pointing it to the driver, it views the driver and says its not compatible and to make sure it's for x64.

When going through control panel>Devices and printers>add printer>printer I want isn't listed

I can select the TSP743II by it's port, then generate a printer queue as TSP437II (copy 1.) I can pair this printer queue with the same drivers, then send print jobs to it and get it to print. The main issue with this work around is that anytime the computer is restarted or shut down, the print queue errors out until the spooler has been reset (found this out by just running a troubleshooter on it.) So ultimately it's broken down into 2 issues.

1: The printer is staying as only being recognized as an unknown device. It's correct drivers can't be recognized by the system.

2: The work around using the print queue isn't stable and will require our sales guy to call IT each time he reboots for us to fix the print queue for him again.

WINDOWS 10 CONNECTIMG RECEIPT PRINTER

THE USB on my receipt printer is not connecting to the computer, it keeps stating that the drive is unavailable. I don't know if its the software or the cable. My regular HP printer connected fine but not the receipt print. Any suggestion?

 

Windows 10 driver for thermal 58 receipt printer

I just bought a 58 mm thermal receipt printer for my computer (windows 10). The printer comes with an installation disk but only supports up to windows 8. I have looked for windows 10 drivers online but have had no luck. Can anyone point me in the right
direction?
