Windows 10: Windows 11 Home, Outlook 365 and Error 0x800ccc1a

I recently purchased two Dell XPS 13 9305 laptops that came with Win 11 Home. From time to time I've encountered Error 0x800ccc1a on both systems when Outlook 365 is doing a Send/Receive. Two Xfinity/Comcast accounts fail on Receive, one AT&T account is unaffected. I've noticed that the error frequently occurs immediately after the systems have come out of Sleep Mode.The condition can be cleared by disconnecting and reconnecting the system's Wi-fi connection SSID.Over time I've eliminated the email account configuration, the PST and the cable modem/router as possible sources for th

Disable new search bar in Outlook 365

OK. There is a way to disable this new search box in Microsoft Office 365. For Outlook:

1. Open Outlook 365.
2. On the lower left-hand corner click options.
3. In the User Interface options under the General Tab, click the checkbox Collapse the Microsoft Search box by default.
4. Click OK.

The search box will now disappear. However, disabling this option would only work on that application. If you open Microsoft Word or PowerPoint, you will need to do these same steps to disable the search box (if present) as well. Let me know if this works for you.

This is an awkward problem to solve and one I don't think is worth the time and effort.

The OP would be better off either using a modern webmail service like gmail or outlook.com or using a modern email client like Windows Live Mail like FX-GMC suggested or Thunderbird from Mozilla. If nothing else, Outlook Distress was notorious for corrupting its data files and losing all your email in one easy step. Not worth it.
