Windows 11 Ultimaker Cura file association/registry problem

in the past I have received help from Ramesh Srinivasan with this issue...Every time Cura comes out with a new version, the file association looks for the old version. In the past I was able to run this registry fix:Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.gcode\OpenWithProgids]".gcode.4.13"=-[-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.gcode.4.13][HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.gcode]@="gcode_file"[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\gcode_file]@="G-code toolpath"[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\gcode_file\DefaultIcon]@="\"C:\\Program Files\\Ultimaker Cura 5.2.1\\Ultimaker-Cura.exe\",0"[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\gcode_file\shell]@="open"[HKEY_CLASSES_R

  2. How do I fix Windows 11 file association problem?

    Jonas,

Please download the .stl fix here:

    https://1drv.ms/u/s!AjVYLGw0OBWUoR9OWWIAQ0dCLQMo?e=HEv9s4

    For .gcode, try this:

    • Right-click on a .gcode file and click Properties.

    • Click "Change."

    • Browse and locate the Cure executable file. [C:\Program Files\Ultimaker Cura 5.2.1\Ultimaker-Cura.exe]

That's it. This associates .gcode files with Cura.

  3. How do I fix Windows 11 file association problem?

Pls download and run this REG file again. I've modified it. That should associate .gcode with Cura 5.2.1. I'm assuming that the program is installed here:

    "C:\Program Files\Ultimaker Cura 5.2.1\Ultimaker-Cura.exe"

Windows 11 Ultimaker Cura file association/registry problem

How do I fix Windows 11 file association problem?

How do I get Windows 11 to stop looking for Cura in C:\Program Files\Ultimaker Cura 4.13.1\Cura.exe? This is an old version and the folder no longer exists. I have tried several times to change the file association in Settings. I have also tried resetting all file associations to Windows defaults. Thanks.
