Windows 10: Windows 11 Update Fails with error: 0x800707E7

When I was updating the system, an error message popped up: 0x800707e7 as shown in the picture above. How to update from Windows version 1909 - error 0x800707e7

I'll rename the key ending with 1002(append .bak at the end) present in HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList (regedit.exe), and then try again.

You must create a system restore point before making changes to the Registry.

If that still is unsuccessful, I will suggest you to check for BIOS updates.

Windows 11 Update Fails with error: 0x800707E7 - 0x3000D

This problem has been bothering me for a few months, but I finally decided to fix it. The problem is that I'm stuck on a Windows 11 version and every time I try to update Windows, it reboots and it undoes all the changes it made to my PC. I tried various suggestions I saw online, such as turning off all antivirus/malware software, unplugging all external devices except mouse+keyboard, and clearing enough space on the main SSD. The results are the same. I also tried using the Windows Update Assistant, found here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows11. This doesn't work either. I then tried using the media creation tool found at the same link, that didn't work either, but at least it gave me the following error message: "0x800707E7 - 0x3000D The installation failed during the FIRST_BOOT phase with an error during the MIGRATE_DATA operation".

The reason for the failure couldn't be determined from the log.

Please use the Media Creation Tool and try running setup again. Let it fail with an error code -- e.g., 0x800707E7 - 0x3000D.

If the MCT method fails again, please share the latest setupact.log.
