Hate updates that pop up new stuff. When I did updated last time just over a week ago, when I go to sign in with password a message pops up asking to go to app store to now access. I do not want to jump through hoops to use computer. "Change the password requirement setting to "Off."Under Sign-in options, you’ll find various login methods. Look for the "Password" section. You might see an option that allows you to manage or change your password settings. Follow the prompts to remove your password. If prompted, you may need to enter your current password to confirm the change". When I tried thi

  2. Simplifying updates for Windows 7 and 8.1

Just experienced this myself. I wanted to download the update because this is a massive problem and fresh installs of Windows 7 are still in my future. I don't have a problem using IE11 but...
    1. I add the download to my cart.
    2. Click on basket.
    3. Click on download.
    4. Window pops up asking to browse for folder.
    5. Click on it, UAC pops up demanding admin password. "No problem," I thought.
    6. Enter admin password. Nothing happens.
    7. Close window and repeat steps 3-6. Getting frustrated now.
    8. Right-click and select refresh.
    9. Repeat steps 4-6.
    10. WTF?
    11. Come to the sad realization I'll have to sign off and sign in as the admin account just to download a file.
    12. Give up.

Terrible indeed. I'll have to do it eventually though. *Frown Windows 11 update now requires downloading an app. I do not want any passwords at all! Have... :(

  3. Enable Require password on Wake up Windows 10

To further troubleshoot the issue, we suggest disabling and
    enabling
the Require a password on wakeup settings on your power plan
    by following the steps below:

    • Open the Advanced power settings for your current chosen
      power plan
      .
    • Click on the Change settings that are currently unavailable link.
    • Set the Require a password on wakeup settings to Yes
or No, and click on OK.

Once done with the steps, let us know how it goes.

Attention Required: Windows Live 2 password is incorrect

    Hi PIUPZ,

Thanks for Posting to the Microsoft Answers forums! In addition to the steps Jay provided, one other suggestion I want to call out before resetting your phone is to check if Two Step Verification has been enabled on your Microsoft account.

Under the section Two-step verification, if you see that you are given the option to Set up two-step verification, please enable it the disable it (or leave it enabled if you prefer). If you see a link Turn off two-step verification, you will need to
create an app password to enter in on your phone:

    • Click on Create a new app password under App passwords
    • Enter your app password in the password field
After reviewing these settings, go back to the phone and manually sync your account (and update your password if necessary). You can sync the account by tapping
Settings > Email + Accounts then tap and hold your account for the
    Sync option.

I hope this helps, please let us know if you have any further questions!

    Regards,

    Greg
