Windows 10: Windows 11 Will Not Update Successfully

Edition Windows 11 Pro Version 21H2 Installed on ‎30/‎09/‎2021 OS build 22000.376 Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22000.376.0 Dell XPS 8940This an upgrade from Windows 10 Pro and is an Insider Beta build. I have recently restored an image from 22nd December 2021 due to update issues. I had zero issues initially but every time Windows Updates are applied all seems to go fine until after the restart and it then freezes at the login screen. I have to power down and then power back up again. This works - sometimes first time, sometimes second time - the OS loads okay but there are

To help you out with your concern, we suggest that you disable the add-ons in Internet Explorer 11. For step by step instructions, go to this

link, then look for the title Turning off and removing add-ons.

We also suggest that you reset Internet Explorer 11 through these steps:

• Go to Internet Explorer then click the Gear icon.
• Choose Internet options > Advanced.
• Click Reset.

(Note: If you have added Favorites, back up them first before resetting the browser. )

Windows Updated(16299.309).KB4088776 Restart is required to complete.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

I MANUALLY installed Cumulative Update KB3185614 SUCCESSFULLY but Windows continues to try to install SAME update

There may be some corrupted files in the update even if it was successfully installed. Because of this, Windows prompts you to reinstall the it.

To resolve the issue, we suggest uninstalling the update. Please follow the steps below:

• Open Control Panel and click on Programs.
• In the Programs tab, select View installed updates under
  Programs and Features. You will be directed to the Uninstall an update page.
  
• From the list of updates, right-click on Cumulative Update KB3185614 and select
  uninstall.

Windows will eventually reinstall this update since it will be missing.

If the issue will persist, you may run the Windows Update Troubleshooter tool. This tool automatically fixes problems with Windows Update.
