Windows 10: Windows 11 won't boot blue screen error cyclic redundancy check

Im only able to boot windows recovery. The automatic recovery would not fix the problem. It all started with a blue screen at boot up. Blue screen says unbootable volume then resets itself. I force recovery via thumb drive. But once in recovery I cant do anything with the write protected partitions and it won't allow me to erase/delete or reformat. I have tried diskpart.exe in cmd prompt and its exactly the same. I get this error. "Data error cyclic redundancy check so I use the "attrib disk clear readonly" cmd and it says "failed to clear disk attributes" so I back out of disk part and use

Use something like CrystalDiskInfo to check SMART on the drive, however if this is an older IDE drive, SMART might not be supported. Cyclic redundancy errors are almost always uncorrectable disk errors. I suspect that the drive is failing juding from the symptoms you described.

System Backup fail. message shows Data error (cyclic redundancy check) Error Code: 0x80070017
