Windows 10: Windows 1803 to 1809 upgrade issues: upgrade not possible/shown?

I read a lot of different articles and threads here (and elsewhere) concerning the upgrade issues from 1803 to 1809. "Fun" fact: I've got several identical machines that had problems at first, but all in all it was just missing storage space on the system drive. After freeing up the required disk space, everything run kinda smooth (upgrading from 1803 to 1809).

Just one machine doesn't want to - and I tried a lot of different solutions (fixIt Tools, the manual Updater, deinstalling NET-Framework, deactivating dev-Mode, so on) but nothing worked at all.


What really bothers me: The first tries quit/rolled back at different levels and at least I got an error code (three times 0x800f081f, why I deinstalled NET framework). Now I don't even get, before deinstalling NET Framework, a notification about the missing update (Settings\Update & Security\Windows Update) - just the Windows Defender updates or smaller ones (KB4489894, KB4023057, KB4489868, ...) - or even an error code when a rollback happens after an upgrade (1803 - 1809) attempt. It holds at 30 - 40 %.


btw.: The only major difference on this machine to the other ones is a documented failed compress system drive attempt.

Issue of Activate Windows post upgrading to windows 10 version 1809 from 1803

Hi

Yesterday I upgraded my home PC from Windows 10 version 1803 to 1809 (Oct 18 upgrade). It was done by dowloading the upgrade from windows site and it was a clean upgrade. It's showing me proper version but gives message 'Activate Windows'. Please let me
know how to resolve this issue.

 

Upgrade 1803 -> 1809 Failed & No Longer Available

Hello

I'm looking for a bit of help. I'm trying to upgrade my Windows 10 however the installation keeps failing. Current version is 1803 and trying to go to 1809. When the install reaches 42% the PC locks up and I have to restart, causing it to roll back to 1803.
After a few attempts the updates says everything is up-to-date, however the PC is still at 1803.

Looking around on various places there's a few things I've tried:

• Removing antivirus + malware (Avira + Malwarebytes).
• Unplugging all non-essential USB devices.
• Updated GFX drivers to latest.
• Ran the Windows Update Assistant.

All sadly to no avail. Thoughts? I can provide logs if needed (although please advise which ones are required and how to locate them)
