Windows 10: windows 1803 update deleted my desktop wallpaper, undid my arrangements of icons, and...

this may be incomplete, as i only just upgraded, but i just wanted to let the Microsoft team know. i am using an alienware 15 R4, further details in the screenshot

In the meantime, you may follow the step below to see if this would address your concern:

• Right-click on your desktop > Click View.

Note: If you want to manually arrange your desktop icons uncheck Auto arrange icons
then drag your icons depending on where you want to place them on your desktop. If you want your icons to be aligned to the grid, check
Align icons to grid.

I would suggest you to try the steps and check if it helps.

a) Right click on Desktop.

b) Click on View.

c) Uncheck both "Arrange icons to grid" and "Auto arrange icons".

d) Restart the computer and check if it helps.

 

Desktop icons re-arranges after every Windows Updates on Windows 10

I understand your concern about re-arrangement of icons after installing the Windows Updates.

I suggest you to follow the below steps to uncheck the Auto arrang icons.

Steps: Right click on desktop, over the mouse on View
option, check if Auto arrange icons option is uncheck.

Uncheck the option and check with the status of this issue.
