Windows 10: Windows 1809 update stuck at 81%

Windows tried to update my system last night. It ran OK until it got to 81% and then it just stayed there, so I ended up shutting off the machine and restarted and it rolled me back to what I had before.

I have already run the windows update troubleshooter. It said it wanted to delete the previously download files. I said OK and then it said that it fixed something.

I also ran DISM and SFC and DISM said it completed successfully and SFC said it found no problems.

I also checked the Device Manager and there are no flagged devices and Dell says that all my drivers are uptodate.

The attempted install must have uninstalled the Dell Support Assistant because it was there yesterday and today I noticed it was gone. No longer installed.

Sorry for the inconvenience this is causing.

One of the best ways to upgrade to Windows 10 1809 is to do so offline manually. The success rate is much higher that way.

What is the exact make and model?

Open Start, type: system information

Hit Enter

Click System summary

Look in the right pane

Copy the system sku info into reply here.

Some other things you can disable include:

Intel VT-d --> from enabled to DISABLED - you will need to load your BIOS to do this. If you don't know how, let us know so we can guide you.

Press Windows key + X

Click Command Prompt (Admin)

Type the following command:

rundll32.exe pnpclean.dll,RunDLL_PnpClean /DRIVERS /MAXCLEAN

Hit Enter on your keyboard

Exit command prompt

Restart

Date; June 12/2018; Windows 10 update stuck at 81%. I am very frustrated. Any ideas? This goes on for hours and days
